Tow switch inop

The last time I hooked up my Travel Trailer and went to leave I pushed in my Tow button and it did not work. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what could cause this to happen? I know that it can be the switch it self, but what are the other options besides fuses. I have checked all fuses and they are good.

Is it ok to tow something with the tow switch not engaged? Trailer weighs 9200 lbs.

Could also be a broken wire inside the steering column.
Yes you can tow that way. If you need a lower gear you also have the column shift.

Most likely a wire inside the column. Very common.

69cj and Roasted7, I will check the steering column for a broken wire. If there is not a broken wire can you point to where i might start at after that.

It's always a broken wire where the wires enter the shift handle inside the steering column. You don't need to know where to look if that's not the problem because it ALWAYS is the problem.
