New squeaking after installing leveling kit

New squeaking after installing leveling kit

I am thinking my front U joint is on the way out. After lifting my truck I have a squeak front the front that is pretty constant once it gets up to speed.

I am going to need to replace the track bar bushings, I noticed that when I was installing the lift. Would these bushings cause the squeak, or are these more of a thud when you hit a bump.

I am greasing everything with a grease fitting on it right now, however I have the Ford OEM non grease able U joints in it right now. I have seen a ton of threads on the U Joints and have decided to go with Rock auto and buy the grease able Moog joints.

Is there anything else under my truck that might cause a constant squeak I should look at. I am really not getting any vibs, except when I take off. I have a shim kit coming that hopefully is going to fix that.

Truck has 130 thousand miles and these are the original u joints that came with the truck.

Ball joints were replace not that long ago. And it is not my brakes either.

What all did you replace/install with the leveling kit? What was the size and brand of the leveling kit?

ProComp front leaf springs, 2.5 inch lift for V10 and Diesel. I gained more like 3 inches from this lift as I have a 5.4. Zone offroad adjustable track bar and, bilstein shocks.

The rear I went with 4 inch ready lift blocks and bilstein shocks as well.

I noticed yesterday after installing the carrier shim kit on my truck, the vibes went away and I don't think I heard it squeaking either.

I will listen for it again today to make sure.

It is still there, it sounds like it is coming from my front left tire area. I am going to take the hubs out today and re grease them, and check the brakes to make sure it is not them. I just did the breaks a year ago using motor craft parts. However, something might be wrong there. I don't live where we get any snow, so salt is not a concern.

It might be my caliper pins. I will let you know what I find. Hopefully it is not a wheel bearing.

If you put it in 4wd does it go away?

If so, the needle bearings in the wheel hub may need some attention...

I am hoping I don't need to do needle bearings, but if I do, thanks for link.

I have it in my bookmarks now.

Truck has just over 130k on it. It is possible it is time to do them. Just not looking forward to it.

when u pull the hub check the stub shaft and make sure the needle bearing is not dry and messing up the stub shaft. If so Napa has the bearings for like 5 bucks, use good quality grear and pack the crap out of the new needle bearings. And 130k on stock unit bearing is great, but probally close to the end if its never been greased through the ABS hole. Ive been greasing my unit bearings once a year for the past four years with Lucas heavy duty synthetic grease. I have 130,000 miles and they are tight as a brand new one

I have never done that. I am sure they are dry as a bone. I am hoping monday I can get it done. This weekend is packed with other stuff already.
