WORKING ON '06 , I THINK IM HAVING SOME FICM PROBLEMS SO FAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR A FEW WEEKS WITH INJECTOR CIRCUIT LOW ON ALL CYLINDERS. FINALLAY LED TO A NO START CONDITION. HAD ABOUT 21 VOLTS ON THE FICM AT STARTING. TOOK IT OUT RESOLDERD ALL 16 JOINTS (EVEN THOUGH DIDN'T REALLY SEE ANY CRACKS.)PUT IT BACK FIRED RIGHT UP DROVE ABOUT 30 MILES . THE NEXT DAY ANOTHER NO START CONDTION AND INJECTOR CIRCUIT LOW CODES AGAIN. TRYING TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO AND DIRECTION TO GO IN. SHOULD I JUST PULL THE FICM AND HAVE SENT OUT? I JUST DON'T REALLY FEEL LIKE RESOLDERING AGAIN WILL HELP.
The thing here is you were down to 21volts thats WAY LOW and when you pulled it open and DIDNT see any cracked soilder joints oddds were a simple resoilder job wasnt going to cut it.
He will get yopu fixed right up it will end up a better part than a New FICM would as they still have the Power supply problems
ED is the MAN does great job at an Honest Price
And Now that we talked about the FICM while its off getting fixed Get your Batterys Load tested and bench test alternator. and then Clean ALL Battery Cables all of them Grounds everything even where the grounds meet the engine block(by the A/C Pump) and the Frame (By the Power Steering Pump)
Just Make shure the charging system is 110% as problems here will Take out the FICM FAST
One thing Before you go to all that trouble is check the FICM Ground wire it comes out the FICM Harness right next to the Unit and goes to the Back Intake Manafold Bolt its the One with a LOOP End
If you didnt mess with it its probably on but dont hurt to check it
Ficm repair went well, got unit back very promptly. My advice would be if your trying to resolder your self and you dont see any cracked joints just leave it alone and send it in because if you mess with it or work on it you have to pay $50 more .
