Has anyone ever considered or chrome powdercoated one??Just thinking about doing mine.Concerned about saving all those plastic inserts holding the headlight buckets can new ones be purchased?
I seen one and talked to the owner of 1 68 truck that he had stripped the paint and had it chromed it looked really good.Plastic clips check Dennis Carpender
I am considering having my grille for my 69 powder coated also. I have tried everything I have heard of to make it shine. No LUck. Someone said it is anodized so it won't shine until its removed. So maybe powder coating is the answer. Money Pit 69
In order to get any aluminum grille to shine or to be powder coated (I don't know if aluminum can be powder coated) the anodizing needs to be stripped off.

Which plastic pieces are you referring to? The ones for the buckets are headlight adjustment screw assemblys. Then there are four plastic nuts for the headlight bezels/doors. Which ones are you concerned about? All of these can be bought.
LMC shows nylon nut-bezel for headlight bezels at $0.35 you need eight.

Racinray, I had my 68 grill reanodized 10 years ago, whether you powder coat or reanodize you must remove all of the riveted brackets , I ground the rivets and replaced them with #10 -32 stainless screws and lock nuts.
