good luck!!!! I don't think dennis carpenter has the '69 grill, they have '70 and up though. if you are going to restore to year specific, I would just have yours redone at a reputable grill repair shop. if not there are many options....go with a 70-72 style. Get a steel grill and paint it, I have thought of doing this and using that new chrome paint, or even have it powder coated or aluminized. you could have it sand blasted and hammer out any imperfections yourself then paint it with some silver paint, I have seen this done, and it looks good, but I don't know how long the paint will stick to the aluminum.
any way you choose to go is really up to one person....you. any how take pics and let us all see.
I've heard conventional chroming these old steel grills will not hold up because they are so big and vibration over time will cause the chrome to crack and flake off. Guys on this forum have talked a lot about it, paid big bucks and within a few years it looks like crap. Have you checked on any of these new high-tech coating techniques? I guess some of those chrome coatings can be put on anything (wood, plastic, paper, etc.) and is very flexible. I found a 68/69 NOS grill on ebay a while back and got it, would rather have a 67 though, I think they look better.

does any one know where i can get a decently priced front end for a 71' f-250 heavyduty. I'm also looking for a power steering unit for the same truck. anything would be of great help. I live in Mesa, Arizona.
does anyone know if they make billet or tube grilles available for these years if so where can i find one
I had a friend that made his own from a steel version, and some extruded aluminum flat barstock. it looked really good, took him forever to get it done, but it had great results. he used the stock steel grill, and cut the bars out and fabbed up some brackets, which mounted directly to the original grill.
