my 2007 ranger [3liter]threw a code #o457 [gas cap]then check engine light.spoke to mechanic at dealer ship and he told me to drop spare tire check evap hoses ,sure enough the hoses were off,he said it is a common problem here in canada ,snow builds up between the box and spare tire ,melts and freezes over and over causing the hoses to come apart.hope this helps.the mechanic recomended dropping the spare every spring to check the hoses.
