Code P0446
1996 5.0L Explorer gives error code P0446 with text: evap purge/vent solenoid malfunction. Any suggestions?

Jp, first make sure the gas cap is sealing correctly. If it's OK, then the purge solenoid is probably the culprit. It's located above the spare tire, and is easy to change.

I had same code. Solenoid cost about $35.00 from dealer and was very easy to change. You have to drop spare and then remove four bolts to drop the plate the solenoid is attached to. Good luck.

I currently have the same problem/code. Interested in how things turn out for you. I plan on fixing my truck next week.
