herpderp alternator

Alternator went bad.
Well, rectifier did.

Anyways, stupid replacements come with IDI Pullies on them.

No wonder my truck had the wrong pulley when I got it.

And man, It's so poorly cast.

Good thing I had a spare junk belt with me when I replaced it at the store.

That was basically a PSA for people replacing their alternator.

wouldn't it be easier to ask for a 1996 alt instead of the 1994?

Nope, if he did that than he'd get an 8 rib pulley instead of the 7 rib he needs.

Didn't the counter guy check the part he was about to sell you versus the core?

He didn't get my core.

And like I said. 3 motors available for 94, so it has the 6 rib pulley on it.
All of the 94's options are 6, even though the fmotor isn't.

It was just my stupidity to not order a newer one to get the better pulley.

Just the electronic part failed on mine, I'll buy it, they are 30 dollars but you have to order them, Then i'll have a spare alternator or one to sell.

Oh, that makes sense. Yeah, if it's just a $30 fix on your old alternator, then I figure that you did good keeping the core.

If it just needs a rectifier, I'd fix it for sure. Cheap fix. I just wish I could get an alternator to charge over 14 volts and not drop voltage when I turn on accessories.
