Anyone running a lower stall tc in their V10?

Ive been told that the converters for RV's with V-10's are a little tighter than standard truck converters. Might want to look into it.

Seems like you could get a 5-Star tune that would cure that.

Yes and no. My tunes have a more aggressive TQ lockup and don't unlock the TQ every time you let off the gas and back on again or touch the brake.(I requested the tunes like that) The TQ is still going to have to unlock and lock when going up or down the gears. You will still have a difference in rpm between unlocked and locked.
I don't like the "loose" feel of the stock TQ either but the higher stall does help get you closer to the torque curve. Honestly I would like to see how my truck would perform with say a 2500 stall converter in it.

I'm not really worried about mpg, or thinking the lower stall will improve mpg, I just want a tighter comverter. Yea, the stock one gets it in the torque curve, but I plan on Banks headers, lowend cams from Ironbull?, tune and 4.10s, so I feel it should do nicely. A few times a year, it will be loaded to about 18k gcw going a few hours to tractor shows, I can live with it not being a speed demon, and feel this would be my best compromise for a daily driven truck.

Ok, well it took some convincing on my part to get the shop owner to order me up a RV/stock diesel stall converter for my truck, but it's on its way. He was very apprehensive when I told him what the truck is used for, the gearing, and the tire size. I assured him that all those things would be corrected, I just need to get the trans back in and the truck running again.
