Great mpg on 900 mile trip. Love my V-10 !
Finally got to take a Thankgiving road trip from Orange County to Scottsdale, Az. Only 900 miles round trip. I have an ebay CAI, muffler shop custom y pipe and a superchips programmer. Power was amazing. Did not baby her at all. Did a long stretch at 95 mph, but averaged 85 mph. I got a hand calculated 13.68 MPG. Cannot complain at all ! lifted crew cab, 4wd on 35" muds with 3.73 gears.
And my family was more than comfortable.
Each day I love my V-10 more !!!

I take mine on long trips all the time. That's why I got it. Kids live in Idaho and Utha and my Mom is in Wisconsin. The V10 give it the power to jump on the freeway and get out ofthe way. I love doing 80-85 down I 80. Cruse control on motor humming around 2750 and just as quiet as can be. I can sneak right up on ya with that truck. I get about 12MPG and am at 277K. Got to take it up in the snow for the first time. What a blast.
I love my V10 Super Duty.

I am going to be making a 300 mile trip from Snowflake Arizona to Mammoth Arizona and back up there hauling an empty trailer and back hauling a 84 Bronco 2 4x4 manual tranny with no back hatch nor engine. Will report gas mileage last time we took a trip from Snowflake Arizona to Flagstaff Arizona and got 17 MPG all highway only hauling our little cherry picker.

I did almost the same trip, Newhall to La Quinta (near Indio) and then down to the Salton Sea bird hunting. I kept the speed down to around 70, if that with the traffic weds night. With driving all over the dirt roads and traffic back on Sunday I got 9.6MPG. But that was over 585 miles. Glad to see someone getting decent mileage. I’ve got 33’s and 430 gears, so I expect to get worse mileage than your 35’s and 373 gears. Did you change the tire revolutions per mile in the computer to reset your speedo? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Could be a tune up is in order with 81k miles on the clock. I was looking at changing the plugs already, since it’s coming up on the mileage requirement. I just haven’t found which ones to get yet. I change the oil every 3k miles or 4 months regardless of usage and change the air filter as soon as it needs it. The only thing I haven’t done recently is change the fuel filter. I really don’t know what else is needed for a tune up any more since everything is modular or computer controlled.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
