Thumbs up wow!!! mpg increase

i went on a 350.5 mile hwy trip yesterday not towing and filled with bp fuel, use bp and shell also added gray diesel kleen which i have done before and did not help at end of trip mpg were 15.3, this may not seem like a lot but when you are only getting 12.28 max something is up could this be a switch from winter to summer blend, anyone in the louisiana area with info about that please let me know, just baffled that it would would just jump up 3 mpg all of a sudden.

Similar results here, I think a combination of both factors are responsible. Don't forget, the pendulum will swing the other way next winter.

I too have been paying some attention to mileage since diesel is still more than regular unleaded and have made a few interesting discoveries. Speed kills, not just brain cells but MPG as well. In a several tests at varying speeds, I found that while driving 75 mph, I was getting around 14 mpg on a tank of gas. At 65 mph, I get about 18-19 mpg. I will admit, 65 mph is numbing to the brain and is the reason I couldn't say what a long range test at 60 mph would give in mpg results. My driving style is pretty light on the go pedal and I have to believe that attributes to a slight increase also.

I have noticed my mpg go way up here in Texas over the last three weeks. I do not think it is due to changes in fuel but rather that the GF lives about 25 miles away... highway. So I put about an extra 200 highway miles a week on then I have in the past. My bet is on that causing the mpg gains
