Do not go with the readylift 5" blocks, they are tapered and will not give you the correct pinion angle with your shortbox crewcab. You will get driveshaft vibrations that will not go away even with carrier bearing shims. Go with a flat block from Newton Lifts or other. Ask me how I know, I have a brand new installed-once set of Readylift 5" blocks on the shelf in my garage.

I actually have the tapered 4 inch blocks on mine right now and have a slight vibe right now that I was planning on shimming. Damn. I guess I am going to have to get the non tapered ones from Newton.

Thanks for the heads up.
You might be OK with shimming since you have 4" blocks. I had 5" blocks and the vibration didn't really go away with shimming. I'd try shimming first before buying new blocks, just in case it works for you.

Yeah I think I am going to try to shim first. If it does not go away I am going to have to get the non tapered blocks.
it's amazing how such a little thing completely changes the whole attitude of the truck
great job
p.s. I would paint the shocks green or black. red would be sorta neat as well, but it's like the yellow and very noticeable.
Yeah I agree with you. I am probably just going to go with black.
And thanks, I am really happy with how it turned out. This is the longest I have driven any 4wd vehicle without lifting it. I am glad I finally decided to go ahead and do it. The stock Ranchos were TOAST. So it seems like it rides like a caddy now. LoL
i painted my old set of yellow monroe shocks on my truck grey and blue, then i chaged them to grey and red it looked much better fyi.. they looked great afterwards, ill post a pic if i still have it someone on my computer
