I painted my entire frame, rear end, front suspension, springs, inside firewall, floor, radiator saddle, bumper brackets, and a few things I probably left out with POR-15. It's great stuff!

I am using por mostly. Painting the back half of my frame, diff, and springs with it now. Just did my radiator area, wheels, and valance with it as well. Great stuff but make sure to do prep like cleaning it well and use foam brushes not regular brushes or hairs come off into the paint. Ask me how I know. Also make sure if your top coating with something besides por to spray primer or the paint while the por is still tacky.

POR-15

EDIT: Hey Yamagrant - I used a foam roller and foam brush. The parts are either wire wheeled (if large) or sandblasted if smaller in fit into the cabinet of my local machine shop. See PM for further....

Joe; What did you do for prep? Looks great!
Did you brush, or spray it on?

I also used POR 15. Prep exactly like they say with a basic wash, an acid wash, then the primer. On my chassis I used their chassis black for the topcoat. On a bunch of other parts I used POR primer, then sprayed it with Rustoleum spray paint after the primer had just dried to touch (around two hours). If you wait too long & the POR cures, you'll have to sand it again before you topcoat. I have found that the topcoat is really tough if you get it on while it can still cut into the barely dry primer.

Buddy of mine owns a powder coating shop. Bad thing is I havent gotton far enough to paint. I have to do a complete mock up as I cant easily go back and touch it up if i need to add a bracket or something.

Used POR 15 many times, keep in mind it is UV sensitive so if left as is it will dull. This project I am topcoating it with Rustoleam Hammered Black. Gives it a unique look.

POR-15

Amazing stuff, works great!!! Be safe with this stuff. Marine clean will burn your skin, and POR will NOT come off your skin if it dries!!!!!

I wanted a certain color on my frame so I used a good automotive two part paint.

I painted mine body color (screaming yellow) with single stage hardened urethane over epoxy primer. Happy with it so far.
