Bought a 400
I finally got my hands out of my pockets at an auction sale. I picked up an 81 F250 with a 400 4spd. 142,000 on the odo. Paid $200.00 for it.

I keep telling myself that I am not going to stand there with my hands in my pockets and let a good deal slip by again.

I have heard good things about the 400 to, it might make a good replacement for the 351m in my 81.

I did some tinkering on the carb yesterday and got the truck starting and idling like it should. Just adjusted the choke, fast idle and curb idle on it. Also gave it the best cleaning I could without taking off the carb. The air breather was full off straw and grasshoppers.

Its sounding like even more of a deal. Im glad its working out well. Hell you can pull the engine and scrap the rest of the truck and pretty much make your cash back on that one! (if a guy wanted to!)

I`d say you could easily more than double your money on selling the power train tho it`s abit of time and work in pulling it.

My plan is to keep the 400 but I have already had an offer for the hole truck that more than doubles my money.
