It's not a small job. You have to take it out.

There is a procedure somewhere, but I don't see it in the tech folder. Hopefully someone who has it will come along and post it up.

I was afraid of that! Thanks for your help! Do you think theres any chance that it could've fixed it's self? It did it twice on the ride down but never did it on the ride back and hasn't did it since but I haven't pulled my trailer again yet.

It might have burned out some gunk and freed it up. But if you see it again, it probably won't be until you pull the trailer again.

The problem is that too much boost can cause too much cylinder pressure which puts stress on the head bolts. That's why they put the protection mechanism in place.

hello all, i am in need of help regarding my 04 6.0l that likes to return the rpm to idle and the accelerator pedal is completely unresponsive, like it was unplugged. this ONLY occurs when its raining outside or i have just washed it in car wash bay where its humid and trying to leave. hit the throttle and it cuts out and sits at idle, this will happen repeatedly, and if i shut off the truck and restart it may be good for a bit or might cut out in 2 seconds. Seems if i can get into the throttle heavy its ok until i let off then, sure enough it goes to idle and stays there till i restart it. I have replaced the pedal assembly to no help, also removed the 3 electrical connector at what i believe is the pcm on left front fender, and used di-electric grease on them, no help here either. i used duct tape and taped over fender and plastic box over battery on left side, attempting to cover over the pcm and this did seem to help i think, but it is at random this occurs, so im not sure the tape is helping as it did do it repeatedly with tape on. this concern NEVER happens when its dry outside, only when raining or at the carwash like i said. there were some codes for throttle something or other, i would have to rescann and see what they are and post them. also when this problem occurs i have used my scan tool to watch all 3 pedal outputs, and they all seam to be working/moving, even after it is stuck at idle, any help here would be much appreciated, im pulling my hair out.!!!!
