7.3IDI engine swap mount problem

I have a 92 f-250 4x4 straight axle swap 6" suspension lift. I bought the truck with the 7.3IDI out of a van ambulance (year unknown) partially installed. I'm told the drivers side motor mount bracket is not correct for a pickup application. The motor sits high and to the passanger side a few inches. Does anyone have any info or experience on this issue? Any help is much appreciated.

The engine is supposed to sit towards the passenger side some, as does the whole power train to keep vibrations down.

As far as not right for a pickup appliacation.. i have no idea what that could be referring to these things are all pretty much identical. Unless vans use different motor mount towers, thats the only thing i can think of. When i did my swap i kinda just let it be where it wanted to be. I have pretty good clearence with everything and got it to set surprising low and back in the engine compartment.

motor mounts

Hi the rubber motor mounts are different from van to truck. Also the cast steel part that bolts to the engine and the rubber mount bolts too on the drivers side is different. And also the oil cooler is different fron van to truck. And the fuel filter tower is on the left side of engine in truck and on drivers side in a van. The drivers side exhaust manifoild is different van to truck Hope this helps you

Im assuming the cast steel part is the bracket. Any idea where i can order the part application correct. not too much luck with junk yards. I wonder, will I also have to change the oil cooler and the exhaust manifold? Already have the rubber mount. Thanks again...

All the parts that need to be changed that were posted above will swap from the 6.9 to the 7.3. It will be pretty straight forward, pull the 6.9 from the van and swap the fuel filter tower and related parts, the drivers side exhust manny, motor mounts, and the oil cooler I believe.

Someone in another thread mentioned that the motor mounts wouldn't match up going from truck to van? The exhaust manifold should just come off the 6.9 and mount to the 7.3 right? Can the fuel filter tower just be remounted to the other side of the engine or do holes have to be drilled and tapped?

I think they were talking about the F series mount were different than the van ones, meaning the f series is not a direct swap to the van. You need to use the van motor mount. The van mount will be a direct bolt on to the new engine. You are right the 6.9 manifold will bolt right up to the 7.3. I would use the van's filter tower and related parts, as they will be a direct swap and everything will line up when you install the new motor in the van.

Cool thanks for the confirmation on that. So as long as i have the mounts from the 6.9 that was in the van i can just swap them other to the 7.3 and in it should go.
