I am looking for more information. I have a 1955 f100 with a frame mounted booster and master cylinder in the stock location. I am going to use the stock three speed that came in my truck.
1 why do I need to use this 5356ck 1 clutch linkage kit?
2 Wouldnt the heim joint from the rear of the booster just bolt onto the stock location?
3If I do have to replace this clutch linkage I assume you unbolt it from the clutch pedal on the inside of the driver side wheel well.
4 Can I reuse all may parts on the new linkage.
5 Does any one have pictures of this set up and how they did this.
Thanks for any information you all can give me. Ask and you shall learn something new.
I used the kit from Performance online. I did not use the supplied bolt to attach the brake linkage, would not fit, hit the clutch linkage. I had to bend the rod going into the booster in two places and had to shave down part of the Heim joint to get it to fit properly. I will post pictures tomorrow when I get off work.
Wow great pictures. Now I see what you mean about bending the rod out of the booster. I just didnt understand why I had to put in the new clutch linkage. On my truck it almost looks like it will bolt in the stock location. I am going to see if it works in the stock location before I take out the stock linkage. Thanks for all the information.
Hi Joe
Can you tell me how you took out the bolt that holds the clutch linkage together. I am talking about the bolt with the grooves on it. I have tried unbolting the nut and putting wd 40 and trying to muscle it out with no success. Any tips on this?
I never removed the clutch linkage. The only pin I removed was the on that the spring is attached to and goes through the brake pedal lever. All that needed was the cotter pin removed and it slid out easy.
the linkage kit I got from cpp has the shaft. the large U that goes on the shaft that operates the clutch. I am going to call cpp today and try to straighten this out today.
