$1700 for wheels and tires what would you do

I've saved about $1700 and I'm in need of tires but wouldn't mind some black wheels. I currently have 285/75/16 would like a 17 inch wheel with e load range tire. Not sure what the factory offset is but wouldn't mind if they stuck out a little not skateboarded look or anything to ridicules. I have to do something now cant save anymore money cause tires are ready to go. Your thoughts and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I happen to like the way 17 x 10 rims and 35" tires fill out a Super Duty wheelwell myself. Mine has 17x8.5 rims and 287/75-17 Nittos and while they work great, don't rub, wear great and don't fling crap all over the paint, I still like the look of a touch bigger wheel and tire.

Like them very much but your truck is newer as I have a solid front axle so I think offset differs but yes the 17 are what Id really like to get. Where did you get your wheels?

I have 285 nittos on now and I think they fit well.

I wasnt in a hurry which made it easier. I'll add that XD centercaps are for s**t, cheap plastic chrome peeled over the 1st winter and no warranty on centercaps.

Yeah I will second that on the XD centercaps. I broke off the XD emblem before they were even mounted on the truck. I did super glue it back on with excellent results so far since Halloween. The rims are otherwise very nice and get alot of looks.

These are 295 70 18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 18x9 -12 offset XD Addicts.

Have you looked at Discount Tire? I priced out a set of XD Series Adict black 17x9 (-12 offset) with Nitto Terra Grappler 285/75R17E1 tires mounted, balanced, valve stems, lifetime balance and rotations, and tax for my area for a total out the door price of just over $1861.00.

Thats the problem everything is about $1800 that I like. What kind of offset should I be looking for?

If you go to a 16" setup, you can keep within your $1700.00 budget pretty easily. Wanting 17" will really limit your options.

On the offset, I don't know about the 2003, but on the 2007, a -12 offset on an 8" wheel with a typical tire will get you just past the edge of the fender. The pictures below are of my 2007 with MB 17x8 Gunner wheels (-6mm offset) with 305/70R17 Goodyear MT/R tires.
