Haven't posted in a long time...my '89 F250 7.3, 5 speed just keeps on giving ''not much trouble''...been a long time since I needed some expert advice...But, went out today to start the truck and the wait to start light never came on...of course it would not start...was wondering where I should start..glow plugs are all Beru from a couple of years ago...new controller a few years back also..new relay since I've owned it.....just hit 200,000 miles...owned it since 140,000...any advice much appreciated...seems strange the light is gone completely...anyway...thanks for any help....olgold....
for a test, try connecting a small jumper wire from the hot large terminal of the controller to the control terminal for about 10 seconds, watching for the light and then cranking at the end of that time. if that does the trick, it would appear that you aren't getting a signal to that wire, and need to check the ignition switch and the wiring. if that doesn't do it, you would appear to have a bad controller or bad grounds.
thanks for the info...after reading your post it makes sense it might be the ignition switch...have been meaning to replace it for six months...it's getting real sloppy...seems like it won't turn far enough sometimes and then it does....thanks again...will try your suggestion...
