wait to start light doesn't work

I just bought a 94 f250 7.3l IDI. first few times starting the wait to start light came on, and when it went off it fired up immediatley, just yesterday the light wouldn't come on, so i waited for the clicking noise to stop and turned the ignition, it took a few seconds and then fired up. could the bulb just be burned out or is this the beginnings of a bigger issue? Thanks

welcome to FTE.
it could be something as simple as a burned out bulb, or a bad connection or wire to the bulb.
or it could also be a glow plug relay that is intermittent contact.
i would start with those easy things first.

Hey, thanks for the advice, I just did an oil change, the oil was pretty low. now the light works again and it fired up as soon as i turned the key. does it make sense that this was the issue? thanks

nope. oil level has no correlation tho the WTS light.
but you may have touched one of the wires on the controller, remaking the connection to get the light working again
