My 05 F-350 has had this problem for awhile. When I go to leave and lock the doors from the drivers inside lock switch the doors all lock normal then within one second the drivers door will unlock without command. The key fob remote will work normal as well as the keyless entry buttons on the door. This problem was intermittent for awhile now it is consistent. The local dealer mech. has never seen this happen. Currently I just use the keypad to lock it. I hear that this is safer in a public area because using your fob sends out a signal that thieves can intercept gaining them easy entry after you walk away. Has anybody else experienced this phenomenom?
Wow, almost four years is a long time to put up with this!
I've never had, or seen, this problem. However, I'm wondering if it might not have something to do with the ignition switch or something in that circuit.
If you leave your key in the ignition and lock the door, it's supposed to pop back unlocked to prevent locking your keys in the vehicle.
It sounds to me like your truck thinks the key is still in the ignition.
I'm not sure about the lock issue.. But here's my long rant on key fob signal security...lol
I haven't looked up the statistics, but I wouldn't worry about it. It's not as easy as matching a code for a garage door opener. Better odds of getting struck by lightening, while drowning, in my Op. And if You live in a rural area, and you don't see anyone standing within 50ft of you.. your good. When there is a known exploit, the manufacturer will often correct it the following year, or issue a recall too.
High tech crimes are a huge media buzz right now, and movies are filled with it. but in reality, most people, especially your average criminals, are WAY to stupid to even know how to use all the functions on a key fob, much less operate a frequency scanning device to steal the signal, and then put it to use in stealing your truck.

I used to think essentially the same thing. But over the last ten years I have seen meth cookers go from huge, extravagant set ups to being able to cook in a two liter bottle in a back pack. Just figuring out how to make this stuff out of battery acid, drain cleaner, and such in the first place is pretty amazing. Not saying I admire or condone this stuff in any way, but just imagine if these geniuses chose to use their superpowers for good!
