Let's see. If I leave at 6 am tomorrow morning, I'll be there...... Sunday. Maybe you can just drink a cold one for me instead Andy. I already swapped it out this afternoon after work.

No alignment. No issues. Just measured everything
Well I stopped by a NAPA on my way home and they offer 2 models. Standard and premium. I asked to see both. The standard looked a lot like the Moog part, the premium had a thicker shaft and just looked more robust. I bought the premium and put it on when I got home. A test drive showed me the annoying popping was gone, and the steering felt firmer, but my steering wheel is a little crooked. I've been trying to decide if the wheel was off a bit. It turns out the worn parts were just loose and the wheel was a little crooked. I think I'll go ahead and get the other tie rod end and swap it too and then maybe see the alignment guy to get it all straightened back up, unless swapping the other side somehow straightens the wheel back up.
They didn't offer me two different choices, Wonder if they were just offering me one they had on there shelf.. Was it lifetime, ? . Alignment might be good thing if you notice something not right.. Don't need to chew up the $300 tires on the front if you concerned about it. I wasn't concerned because dad was going to get new tires anyways and have everything checked when the time comes.. When he did get to it and had everything checked, It all looked good. Even got a printed report card along with it. With graphs and stuff. All within spec. I must of just got lucky with the tape measure.
A thread or two in or out from the original driver side tie rod position will make the steering wheel off a bit. I got lucky and nailed it first go a few weeks back when I put on a AC Delco 45A0741. Pop the tie rod off the pitman arm and thread it in or out once in the appropriate direction. Rinse and repeat at the cost of a new cotter pin each time. The Delco part was on sale; prices for tie rods are all over the map! I'm happy with the performance and design of it. Needed a pump and a half of grease to swell up the boot a little. Can't vouch for durability yet.

I didn't really pay attention to the warranty part. I'm less interested in some warranty than in getting a good part. They said they had standard and premium. I asked the difference and there was a difference in warranty, and manufacturer, but he offered to show them both to me and the premium looked much more robust.

I think the wheel may have been a hair off for a while now, I just couldn't tell for sure with the slop I didn't notice was in there. I counted turns in and out, and double checked it with measurements so I should be good. I'll go ahead and do the other side with the beefier part and then probably take it back in for an alignment if anything seems off. I drive too many miles a year to listen to a worn tire howl on the road.
Well I'm vouching today. Not so thrilled with the AC Delco part; seems like a dead spot was growing in my steering, and this evening I watched the linkage while my daughter sawed away at the wheel like Bogart in a chase scene. I was expecting to see the longer rod to the passenger side moving, but to my chagrin the tie rod at the pitman arm was the only bit I could see moving. I'm pretty careful to be rolling when I turn the wheel precisely to reduce strain on these parts so it's extra annoying. Just ordered the XRF part ES3427T for $37 from The Tire Club on Fleabay, wish me luck.
Well I have been having issues with my front end for about 6 mths now and I was leaning towards the XRF tie rods but I ended going with the Moog parts. After doing some research on prices I found Rock Auto prices were very good and I bought all inner and outer tie rods and sleeves for under $200 shipped. So now I am waiting for the weather to warm up to install them. I am so sick of the front end pulling !
Since I have the same name and went with the same products... XRF has a million mile warranty and have great reviews. I picked mine up from these guys: The Tire Club
Thats where I got mine from. Mine came in thursday and just had them installed yesterday.
