Cryogenic tempering

Anyone have any experience with this, just wondering if ball joints and tie rod ends would last longer with treatment.

I have not but I know these parts you do not want to get too hard for safety reasons. A bent tie rod end is better than a broken one.

I'd get in touch with 300 below and see what they say about it. they cryo all kinds of things. from golf clubs to rifle barrels to engine blocks and rods.

I wouldn't think it would have to be disassembled.

i wouldn't think so either, but they might simply b/c of the grease in the joint. i personally wouldn't worry about cryoing the ball joints or tie rods. probably not going to see much difference. factory ball joints lasted 260,000 miles. is that too much to ask? if the cryoing works and they stay good for longer then it would be cool i guess though. cryoing just that stuff shouldn't be expensive at all. i would call 300 below as they deal with all this stuff often.

yoslick, i'm going to have my buddy send one of his barrels to get cryo'd(he owns a custom rifle shop). he hasn't had any cryo'd barrels and he is getting his rifles accurate enought that in 3 shots all the holes overlap each other. not too bad for just starting all this stuff. LoL
