Hello everyone. I have a 95 F150, 4x4, 5.8L w/automatic tranmission. I have the manual locks for 4wd.
My problem is that the 4x4 light does not come on in 4H, but 4wd definitely works. Last time I tried 4wd was in the snow and it was engaged just fine. The "Low Range" light illuminates when I shift to 4L. I'm thinking it is either the bulb being burnt out or some sort of wiring leading to the transfer case.
I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem before and had some tips.
I had the same problem with my 95 F350. Pulled the instrument cluster forward enough to get to the bulb and sure enough it was burnt out. Real easy fix to put the new one in and they're the same ones used throughout most of the truck...license plate lights, courtesy lights and if you have them, roof marker lights. I think they are "194" bulbs if memory serves me right. Good luck.
OK, sounds good I'll take a look at the bulb. I'm wondering if anyone out there has any input on wiring w/ the transfer case. I'd like to look at both the bulb and wiring to get the complete picture.
