bad tie rod?
I have a 1995 ford explorer that I believe has a bad tie rod I can put my hand on the tie rod its tight but when you bounce the front end you can feel it pop very good thru your hand and you can hear the pop or clunk also. Could this also be causing the false abs activation at some times

The pop could be coming from a bushing or ball joint and just telescoping through the outer tie rod end.
I don't see how the popping could be causing activation of the ABS unless the popping is actually in the wheel bearing/hub. If that's the case, you should have some serious safety concerns if the bearing is that loose.
