idle up inop
2 weeks ago my battery shorted out,and that caused trouble with my glow plugs,and charging system.got that fixed and i noticed my idle up isn't working.checked the plug in the front and its conected.is there a fuseable link to that also?would it connect to the silinoid that the glo plugs connect to.any information would help me.

The high idle is controlled by the PCM. Engine Oil Temp and Air Inlet Temp are what is used to determine if it is needed. Have you removed the Air Inlet Temp sensor from the filter box? Also is your truck a manual or an auto?

In that case... the high idle feature you are talking about is part of the engine warm up sequence. It only activates under certain conditions, generally when it's cold out and the engine hasn't been run for a while.
