49-50 horn button

ok guys, whats the secret to get the spring on the sterring wheel horn button in and get that locking clip in. in need of help

The clip goes inside the cup and the cover snaps over the cup. The spoked spring plate's outer edge goes out toward the cap. The cap locks, with a twist, onto the retaining ears that stick out of the cup.
