Hey guys, I've had my explorer for about 5 years now, it's my baby and I've been here a lot in the past to find my answers, but I'm stuck now. I get no fire when I try to crank it, I've checked all the way back to my coil pack and get no fire, haven't be able to check if there is fire going into the pack yet because i wont have that tool until Wen. or Thur. While giving it a once over again today I checked the fuel pressure to see if there was any, and I have none, could that cause me to not get fire at all, and if you guys could give me any insight I would be thankful, push start didn't work as well.
Ok, sorry it took so long to get back in here, we have tested everything from the coil pack to the ICM all came back good, next up is the pcm, is there a way to test this without having a new one to swap in?
Most diagnostics for a bad PCM are "process of elimination" type -- when every other possible cause has been eliminated, then replace the PCM.
It seems that the most common cause of "no fire and no fuel" together is a fault in the PCM/engine management power circuit. I know it was already suggested, but have you verified that the PCM/ICM/fuel pump relay are getting power (since they all get power from the same source)? Does the PCM have good ground? ICM have ground?
I might try pulling codes, since some no starts will leave clues in the computer's memory.
We have checked for fire all the way to the ckp but the common denominator is no fire no fuel, and the ckp not making a change to fuel he decided to at least check it, we got a hold of a friend at a part store who will get us one and if it doesn't fix the issue he will refund it.
Ok so after a little while we found a relay not in the book, did some checking tapped it with a screwdriver and it fired right up, going to get a new one tomorrow and its good to go. Thanks for the help guys!
