92 Explorer died won't start

92 Explorer died won't start
I was driving my 92 Explorer on the highway when all of a sudden it died. No sputtering or anything, just dead. It turns over but it's not getting a spark. Tried the coil but that wasn't it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Follow the wire from your crankshaft sensor up to the top of the intake. Look for it to be unplugged or a broken wire. My friends Ranger did the same thing last week and he found the wire had somehow gotten into the Serpentene Belt and cut it. Hope it is not the EDIS Module in front of the Battery as that will set you back about $200 at Advance or Autozone.

92 Explorer died won't start
My 94 Explorer had intermittent starting prblems. It would crank but was not getting fuel. Other times it would die suddenlyand would crank but no fuel. The collision fuel cut-off switch was OK.
The local dealer service replaced the fuel relay swich for $50.00 and the problem was fixed.
