So I just swapped out my rear diff that had 3.25 to 4.88 with a Detroit locker. The owner s before me tried to run 38" tires with 3.25 gears!! But I'm ready to do the front which is a Dana 44 high pinion. Does anyone know the pinion spline count and axle spline count? My truck is a 1977 Ford f150 4x4. Worst case scenario would be to pull the axle and check before I order, but could anyone save me some time? Thanks
I would probably be just as easy to pull a front axle and count them now since you can't drive the truck around with such radically different gears in it.
Then you will know for sure what you are ordering.

Sure he can drive it all he wants just be safe and pull the front driveshaft, not really sure of t-case and he may have to pull the DS with a full time t-case(np203).
