Exclamation What is it?

Noticed some white chalk like material on the water reservoir. Any ideas? Not running hot. Bad EGR cooler or head gasket going?

she "burped", was the coolant recently drained or filled? An air bubble can cause a slight burp if she wasnt fully bled. I have had 2 do that shortly after a coolant flush and refill

Yeah about 2 weeks ago, drained 2 gallons and replaced with antifreeze. coolant was very weak. I have new upgraded EGR cooler, oil cooler and some other things coming. I did not want to get it together and have to turn around and do the heads. thanks

I really hope you didn't put that green stuff in it.

no green stuff, no 50/50. only CAT ec-1 elc or zerex g-05 coolant or ford premium gold coolant. anything else and it compromises ur entire cooling system. be prepared for another "disaster". lol. kidding about the disaster, but u know wat i mean, stuff will break down. lol.

The green coolant won't protect your engine against cavitation. It's not the end of the world...but you need to get it out of there (through flushes required) and refill with one of the three coolants Dom listed. Zerex G05 & Ford Gold are the same stuff by the way.

It is easy to spill a little coolant when you are adding it. No matter how careful I was. I would always get a few "chalky" spots.

You don't want to mix the green stuff with the ford gold. You will have problems.

You also don't want to mix the Ford Gold/G05 with the Cat ELC either.
