I am going to swap in a set of 4.10 axles in my '66 F250 4X4. The ford parts book only lists speedo gears for 4.56. Will any set of speedometer gears for a Dana 24 t-case ('64 - '70) go in any Dana 24 t-case? What year F100 4X4 gears will work?
I'm not sure. In my parts book they list the driven and drive gear. I just need to know what gears will interchange.
Forget the parts catalog, there is no listing...but I can figure it out.
But, I cannot help you until you tell me what the DRIVEN gear is made of, how many teeth it has.
You cannot install a nylon DRIVEN gear in place of a fibre gear or cast iron gear, cannot install a fibre gear in place of a nylon or cast iron gear and etc.
You have to use the correct type, otherwise, the DRIVEN gear will be chewed up in a NY minute by the DRIVE gear that'll prolly **** the bed in the process.

I will pull the gear tomorrow and see what it is made of/number of teeth.

This is what you said. Now look on page 19 of section 172...do you see any 1966 F250 4WD's listed w/a 4.10 ratio? Continue on to page 20, see any there?
There aren't any. Only F100 2WD/4WD, F250 2WD are listed / Like I said, I can figure it out, once I know what the original gear is made from, what its tooth count is.

My driven gear is a 21 tooth steel gear. The drive gear is 7 tooth. I have 235/85 R16 tires which are 32 inches tall (same as 7.50X16). For a '65 F100 (same T-case) with 4.10's the parts book says I need an 18 tooth driven/7 tooth drive. Is this correct?

As long as the F100 came with 16" rims (which were an option 1955/79).
You will not be able to get the speedo to be 100% accurate. P-Metric radials have different specs than the bias ply tires all these trucks came with originally.
