I wrote to Ford Motor Co and suggested that they introduce a " Retro Engines Program " to coincide with their 100th anniversary in 2003. As part of the program , I suggested that they offer a 541 CID Lincoln Y-block crate engine more or less for '53-'56 F-100 pickup trucks. 541 CID specs : 4.375 bore x 4.50 stroke , 2.19 dia intake valve , 1.81 dia exhaust valve , 1.60 piston compression height , 0.025 deck clearance , 7.875 con rod length ( 1.75 rod ratio ) , 11.75 block deck height. You may recall my " 500 CID Lincoln Y-block " post - I changed my mind after getting more info on the Lincoln Y-block in issue # 53 of the Y-BLOCK MAGAZINE. I encourage any of you who would want to see Ford come out with the 541 CID Lincoln Y-block engine to write to them and tell them. Mention the " Retro Engines Program " to let Ford know we enthusiasts are together on it. Fords 100th year comes at a tough time for them , but together we can make it happen.
