oil pan questoin

does all of your 2wd pans that fit the 400 in a 73-79 truck have the drain plug in the middle like a car pan that drains all over the crossmember or do they drain out the rear likea 302 truck pan, if they drain out the rear does anyone have one and the pickup to go with it, or a 4x4 pan and pickup

Mine goes over the crossmember if I don't put a funnel under it.

My stock pan had the drain bolt in the lowest rear middle part of the pan but always always drained onto the crossmember. > The new summit pan has the drain plug on the drivers side also draining onto the crossmember. argh. I have a drain plug kit i plan to install into the front lower portion of the pan. That should get me as close to not over the crossmember as possible on my ol' 351m motor.
