I also reached out to member FordIVTeam ... when this update was first released back in March, they were pretty active assisting members on several boards. They didn't even respond to my PM or my thread here about it. Kind of surprising.
Hey BCM,

I responded to your PM. Take a look.

Since the information I provided is a bit different than what you were told, I am going to reach out to my support for clarity.

I'll PM you when I hear something.

It requires you to login to your Ford Sync account. From there you will be granted access to what updates will work on your specific system. There was an update for my system but it was not very specific what update. So, I went through the process to find out there was an update from the beginning of the year for my truck, wondering if it was a multi-step upgrade process. It wasn't. That page says I am on the most recent version. My truck is a 2011 Job2 build.
Hey _red rocket_,

Shoot me a PM with your VIN and I'll check things out for you.

Thanks, Whitney. Your PM... basically it states 'look, USB2 is for dealer use only, you're out of luck.' Is that the bottom line?

You're welcome, BCM. I responded to your PM prior to seeing your post about the response from our chat team.

I'll check with my support to clarify things and I'll let you know what they come up with.

I realize this is an old thread, but I just updated my sync today.
I have been using the USB2 port which I run a cord to my ProClip phone holder.

I was really happy to see that BlueTooth music automatically plays now and it also displays the song and artist when using bluetooth.
And both unlike the old USB connection display, it no longer displays SO: and AR: which is good, because you should not need to be told which is the song and which is the artist.

After the upgrade
My USB2 cord charges the phone.
But, for the life of me, I could not get it to play through USB2. The phone would charge.
Thanks to this forum, I was able to find that going to Phone first, I could say USB2 and it would connect.

I was really hoping that this update would let me access Siri, which unfortunately does not appear to be the case.
I was hoping pressing and holding the voice command button, but nope.

This is mostly for when I don't take the phone out of my pocket. If it is on the ProClip, it is easy enough to press.

Anyone have any solutions to this.
I do have a bluetooth remote that works, but that sometimes takes some powering on and off on it before it connects.

Does anyone have a way for the voice command button to access Siri or a good option to access Siri.
(my Sync is version 4.6 non touch screen)

Wish I had done some more reading on this Sync upgrade. I cannot use Siri from my phone while connected. Prior to the update, it would seem to appear to be in a phone call state. Now Siri pauses the audio, but neither the vehicle mic or my phone microphone pick up my voice.

Originally, I thought I just could not access it with the voice control button.

Sort of have a work around by using the Google App and the Shortcuts (formerly Work Flow) for playing a playlist.

Though I read something about Dial Mobile Name

Not sure if it really mans to say Mobile name or the name of your mobile device.

Going to try it tonight.

Sort of solution

Pause music with OK button
say Hey Siri followed by command

it works

Been trying to find a way with shortcuts to make one to dictate a command to Siri. No luck.
