Power door lock switch

Anyone know where to get a power door lock switch to fit a 2000 model? The one that sits on the interior driver door panel to lock/unlock all the doors. Or anyone ever taken the switch apart and repaired it? The switch changed in 02. I can find those, but not the earlier ones.

I'm pretty sure the second link is for the 02 and up switches. The first link claims it fits the 00 excursion, but at the same time says it does not fit an 00 F250. I know for a fact that the 01 F250 switch works just fine (cuz it's the same as the 00 Excursion), yet the computer says that switch won't work on the 01 F250.

So for now I've got the passenger side unlock switch upside down and mounted in the driver side hole. The letters are upside down, and the lock / unlock direction is backwards, but at least it works. I'll try taking the bad switch apart tomorrow and see if I get anywhere.

Well it appears the points are worn inside the switch. And the parts are too small, and too hard to get at (and too hard to see) to file them down. I did realize that the lower half of the switches (driver side and passenger) are the same, so I pulled the driver side button off the bad switch and put it on the passenger side lower half of the working switch.

Now I have a functioning driver side lock / unlock switch with the letters that face the right direction, and a non-functioning passenger side lock / unlock switch. Not the perfect solution, but it works until I can find a replacement switch.

Thanks

No, but the driver side switch is still working fine after my little switch.

I hate to revive a dead thread but this comes up in the first results in google and forum searches for "Excursion door lock switch" so I thought I'd post my solution.

As of December 2014, I was able to find several listings on eBay for replacement door lock switches for between $12 (remanufactured) and $45 (new) each.

Driver (left) part number (brown switch base, "L/U"): XL1Z14028AA

I got a 'remanufactured' switch, so I'll report back after a while to see if it lasts.
