I have been getting a pretty severe vibration when i apply the brake pedal. It has been like this for a while now so today i put new rotors on. I go to test it out and same problem. What should i do next? The truck is an 88 f250 4wd
Well, I would have someone jerk the steering wheel back and forth while you look under neath the front end for loose parts, Look at springs, bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rods, anything that you can think of. You might be surprised what you find. Make sure the truck is parked, engine off, and on level ground.
It isnt that bad until i really press hard on the brakes. If i hit the e brake to stop then it gets very bad. Does this mean that the drums are out of round.

I have a little dragging from the front brake, would you say it's the calliper? i replaced the pad and the rotor not long ago because of this, it keeps doing it in a diminished way.

there are two things the caliper or the brake hose is collapsing on the inside not allowing it to function like it should . i just replaced both calipers they was only like 17.00 $ each . the hose is around 8 to 10
Well, since I worked in the rear brakes (the drums were badly worn and uneven) it hasn't done it again, I'll wait some time but if the condition shows again I'll see into what you told me.
I had very similar symptoms, worse actually. When braking my front end would vibrate and shutter, over imperfections in the road, too it would shutter. My first thought was my brakes and/or front suspension so I got to lookin. Brakes were fine, then threw parts at it honestly and replaced all the ball joints, tie rods and ends, and then aligned as well. After that it STILL shuttered! Come to find out my radius arm bushings (4 total, 2 in each arm) were shot. They were allowing the arms to pivot and shift under the weight of the truck and caused the shutters. After replacing those bushings she rides like a Caddy.
