I have a problem I have never personally experienced and cannot remember ever reading about this. When braking with normal pressure on the pedal I am getting a slight vibration, or shudder, through the steering wheel. It is there from almost initial pedal application all the way until I stop. It is not the normal pulsing you would get with a warped rotor. There is nothing odd transferring to the brake pedal at all. It is only through the steering wheel. Any thoughts? I did double check lug nuts. Those were good.
It is hard to tell where a vibration is actually coming from until you get under and look. According to the service manual:
Uneven disk or drum wear
Uneven brake pad wear
Suspension components
Brake drag
Here is what it says to do:
apply the parking brake to identify if the problem is in the front or rear
brake. At highway speeds of 89–97 km/h (55-60 mph), lightly apply the parking
brake until the vehicle slows down. Release the parking brake immediately after
the test.
If there is no vibration, check the front wheel bearings.
If there is a vibration, check the front brakes. Next check the rear suspension for broken or loose bolts, springs, bushings, bearings and uneven tire wear. Next check the rear brakes.
I had something similar to this when my power steering fluid was low. HTH
I like simple. I will check that after work.

Gee. Thanks Kirk! lol That isn't so simple. Especially this time of year in MN. If the fluid thing doesn't work out I will start down that list. Bearings occurred to me also.

I replaced my rotors and pads and all is good.
I hope it isn't something with the rotors. I have the cryoed Powerslots.

Ding, ding, ding We have a winner! Checked the fluid. It didn't even register on the stick. Topped her off and after a few stops it seems to be cleared right up. Thanks man!
