exhaust temp

Put a afe stage 2 air intake filter and a 4 inch exhaust on my 1999 f-250 7.3 and i have a ts chip on it also my thing im wondering about is that when i gun it my egts get to 1300-1500 quick what can i do to lower them

What chip do you have? Check for up pipe leaks for one thing.

I see you have a 99.5 - that's an important distinction to remember. It would also be a good idea to verify what I see with the manufacture date.

What does your boost gauge say when you gun it?

I have a TS chip and when i gun it its on the racing setting 140

How long have you had the chip? Has it just started doing it or has it done it for a while? Most of the time it has to do with a boost leak or an up pipe leak, but when you are running a hot tune it's not unheard of to hit 1300 or whatever in 8 seconds or so.

With my e99, I can hit 1200 really easy if I put it to the floor, but that's after the ICP has fallen on it's face. I notice my EGT's are lower and I've got just as much go when I'm at the spot in the pedal where it's as good as it gets and all that get's higher is the smoke and EGT's. How fast are you thinking when you say "quickly"?
