Ive been kicking around the idea and I can make the 4 link set up but my problem is I dont know what kind of coil over to go with and to be honest I know minimal about coil overs themselves. I want to get rid of the leaf springs because my tires rub them pretty good and may as well get more artucliation outta it too.
Im at a toss up on what to do with the rear axle because I have bad axle wrap. A set of latter bars would be quick and easy and I can make them too, or 4 link it too?
Opinions are welcome and help on the kind or size or whatever I need for the front. Thanks
This is the truck Im talking about, its a DD and a toy
My buddy in my club is sitting on home made 4 links front and rear with big-rig style air bags hooked to a belt drivin compressor on the motor (converted AC unit) and a good sized tank. it rides like a caddilac and he can lower is down to stock hight for putting shtuf in the bed. I would do this set up in a heart beat if i had the know how.
Thank you sir, I just sent them an email. The 2004 and newer trucks have coilover fronts right? I wonder what they use for an 8" lift, time to do more home work...
'05 and newer have the coilovers. Both Fabtech and Skyjacker make coilover kits for our trucks... only reason I don't like them is the lowest kit they have is 6" and I don't want more than 4" for my truck. I think they'd do the trick for you. For the rear, definitely go with some traction bars. Clay sells some stuff from One Up Offroad. If you go on OUO's site, they've got some interesting info regarding lift blocks, stock springs, traction bars, etc. What I think I'm going to do someday is an '05 coilover swap so I can do 4" and then '08 leafs in the rear with some OUO stuff for blocks and traction bars. Oughtta ride like a dream when I get done!
