4-Link

Have any of you guys heard of anyone building a front 4 link for our trucks? I know there's a couple kits out there but they seem way to proud of them! I'm confident I can make my own four link system. I have the skills and tools. What I do not know enough about to make it work right is a set of coil overs.
My truck is not DD it's my big expensive toy, I've come to terms with that, so let's keep money out of it all together. If anyone is knowledgeable of coil overs I'd love to get some good input on my dilemma. Thanks

Have you ever built any link systems before?? Or used a link calculator??

The reason I ask is there is alot more to it than a guy would think. I can tell you right now that figuring out what brand of coil overs and what spring rates to use is probably the easiest part. There is a ton of sh** that has to be figured out to make a link suspension work properly, so you dont get axle steer, brake dive, bad anti-squat, horrible role over (body roll), and to make sure your dif doesnt have bad up or down "pointing" as your axke travels.

Yeah I've got that covered. I have been kicking it around with a buddy of mine who builds all of his own link systems. We haven't sat down and crunched numbers yet. He knows his coil overs but not on something as heavy as these trucks.
I haven't built a full on link setup... Yet too much I need to know to dive into it still. I have build ladder bar set ups before but I'm sure that was cake compared to a full on 4-link. The truck doesn't get driven that much anymore so I can tinker with it as much as I need to until I get it dialed in

Cool man. Just figured id check, seems like a lot of people think link systems are a piece of cake, which is def not the case. But seems like you know what your getting yourself into. I will be doing front and rear links on my toyota before too long and its an offroad only rig too same as yours so I feel safer being able to tinker with setups when Im not putting other people in danger driving it down the highway at 70mph plus.

As for coil overs I really dont know anything about them on trucks this heavy either. Maybe try calling one of the shock companys like King or FOA and see what they say. If money is not a factor ORI struts are awesome, however they are very spendy and I dont know if they make anything that will support our trucks.

I thought about doing a rear set up on my truck too but came to the conclusion that it just wasnt worth it and I made a set of ladder bars and man... What a difference!! I fabed them to look how I want and function how I need all for around $30. With the link setup money is always a factor but I've come to terms that I always manage to get what I pay for... I do plan on spending some money on the coil overs. Thanks for the ideas to get ahold of those guys will do
