power steering pump
I kept hearing an unusual noise and after checking all the tennionsers water pump a/c alt. etc I located it ... It's my power steering pump bearing or something... I squirted a little WD40 on it while running and the noise went away...
Can you replace the power steering pump bearing or is it just as cheap to replace the entire pump ?
And how much are they ?
Hopefully it will last a little while longer as I'm running short of $$...
And hopefully I will be able to do it myself...
Any comments, suggestions or anything will be appreciated...

I would think that bearing replacement is possible, but getting to the bearing would probably require removal of the pump from the truck...thus I think I would go for a pump replacement. Here is a link to a how-to on pump removal and replacement. Look at the last post in the thread, it has the instructions and pictures to do the job. I'd also do some research on the best quality pump you can afford...cheap rebuilds from China generally don't last.

thats just what I was looking for.. from reading that i assume you have to pull the pulley and just can't replace the entire pump at one time ?

I haven't had to replace the power steering pump on my truck, but on other vehicles I have done, the pulley did not come with the pump. You pull the pulley from the old pump and then attach it to the new replacement pump.
