My 77 has the original power steering pump (I think it's original, anyway.... it's the all metal version.)
I rebuilt the power assist cylinder last month and it's been working great but the pump has been noisey. This weekend, the pump gave up and I don't have any power steering at all now.
I checked the fluid and it was exactly where it's supposed to be. Belt feels tight but I just don't get any pressure out of it.
Shot pump?
I searched the forum and found that a Cardone 20-6244 is a direct bolt-on replacement but it's no longer available anywhere. Does anyone know if there is a new replacement? Or should I stick with the Cardone 206098 that looks like it's the "stock" replacement for mine?
I don't know if any brand pump is better than the others. I just went thru 2 Cardone pumps, each one lasting less than a week. I got really good at using the pully puller. (you'll need one btw) On the 3rd pump now going on 8 or 9 days.
So I've been thinking on this all day -- I've got bad brakes and a bad power steering pump. Which pump do I need to convert over to hydroboost? I know I can pick up the booster and the brackets/lines etc... but which pump can bolt up that will have the extra fittings for the booster?

Saginaw P/S pump (resembles a "canned ham") installed on 1972/79 FoMoCo Passenger Cars with Hydro-Boost and 1975/91 Econolines.
Thanks, ND -- I guess I need to find a JY one of those that had a 460 in it so that I can get the bracket and everything else I need.
Edit: Here's what I'm finding. Can anyone confirm that one of these will work? Seems silly to go get dirty for the $30 I can get one of these remans for....
A-1 CARDONE Part # 208606
ATSCO Part # 6002
LARES Part # 2160
Will one of these bolt in or do I need to find a 460 bracket that will fit them? Not seeing anything on rockauto for that.....
