i have a 99 ranger with 170000 miles and the front end recently started squeaking. its coming from the driver side but i cant pinpoint it. any tips greatly appreciated.
If you will read my post which is just of few down or up from yours it is called "The Mysterious Squeak". The fine people here in the Ranger/B-Series forum all came to the conclusion that it is the ball joints. Hope that helps.
thanks for your suggestion but the rangers problem has something to do with the power steering. i popped the hood when i got off work the other day and power steering fluid was everywhere, i checked the fluid level and it was way to high but when i checked it a few days ago it was fine. i got a mechanic coming out this weekend to check it out for me.

Yeah, it sounds like there's something squirrely with the power steering - good luck with figuring it out. Let us know how it turns out with the mechanic.
