interior mini-makeover
Deb's Upholstry in Sioux Falls, SD if there is anyone local that is following along.
According to her, she spent over 2 hours on each visor and many times was turning the machine by hand, one stitch at a time.
I know she's done a ton of cars and trucks (i looked at her album), but i think these were her first visors. She did say that she would have to think about it before she took on another set. She didn't charge me her shop rate because she didn't feel that the price would be reasonable at all.
so she told me $125 cash ... i didn;t have a five, so i have her $130. everyone wins!
Ever done visors? you should post up some of your work if you have, i'd love to see them. everything else you do is top notch!
I really like the way they look!
I love projects like this because you can see big differences with just a little time spent here and there.
I'm keeping the visor mounts white, they look right to me.
still on the fence about the visor holder in the middle ... i'm thinking it would look good black. That, and i'm sure this is about as clean as it will get no matter what. If i decide to change it, i'll use the vinyal dye i used on the doors and dash, so the black would at least give it a new look.
Gotta get new rubber/plastic ends for the end of the visors ... they don't stay in the holder without them.
still gotta get after my dash bezel. I think i'm going to mount a Tach where the AC vent would go on an AC truck. At first i didnt want to cut it up, but i noticed a crack ... so if i were to do a full-on resto, i'd replace ... instead ... well, i've always wanted a tach!
My main issue with mine is air leaks around the windows. Grrrrr, drives me nuts on the highway and costs soooo much to repair the cracked and broken seals.
Thanks a bunch for the ideas and cattle prod.
