Ok guys need some help here. Gonna be getting a set of 325/65/18 FireStone Destination M/T for my truck soon and I'm gonna be getting some KMC 18in addicts for my truck. The addicts come in a 18x9 with a -12 or +18 offset. So I need a lil help. With these tires which offset do i need? With these big tires I dont want them back in to far. Also In PA your tires cant stick out past your fenders to pass inspection. But I'm inspected till 12/12 so im all good if they stick out maybe a inch or a lil more no big deal cuz i got time to get fender flares if i have to. So i need your help with to offset which should I get?
Thanks Ron
I put your info into tirerack.com and the KMC Addict 18x9 recomended for your truck has -12mm offset. I think that is with close to stock size tires. You may need something different with the larger tires.
I know +18 will stick out just a little as I have +18 offset on my Monsters. -12 most likely won't stick out, but I am not sure how close to stock that is.
If you don't mind it sitcking out, go with the +18s. The will give the truck a really good lucking stance in my opinion. If you don't want to for inspection purposes then the -12 offsets may be better for you, but I am not familiar with them. Take a look at these two pictures, they may help explain it a little better. Notice the one on the left has a much smaller offset than the right one: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com
EDIT - I actualy believe I am dead wrong on the negative offset. The negative will actually make the tires stick out much further. Lol, I think we are both learning here. It looks like positive and negative offset is much more than how far they will stick out. Here is one more quote I found off another site:
As the wheels and tires increase in width, you need to decrease the amount of backspacing by increasing the negative offset. For instance, a wheel that's 10'' wide only requires a -12mm offset to have a 5'' backspace; however, a wheel that's 13'' wide requires a huge -50mm offset to keep a 5'' backspace. That being said, 13'' wide wheels can mount massive tires that could rub with only a 5'' backspace, meaning you'll have increase the negative offset even more for a smaller backspace that allows the tire to mount farther away from your fender well and other suspension components. The basic rule of thumb when it comes to wheels is to decrease your backspacing as your wheels and tires increase in width.
Lol im so clueless with this stuff!! So bottom line how far out will the -12 stick out and how far will the +18 stick out? And will eitjer of them rub? With the 325/65/18 tires?
Sadly that is not something I can completely answer. I know my setup stick out about 1 to 1.5" from the fender. That could vary by tire and rim, but again, not sure. The guy with the -12 offsets in that last link has his tires stick out really far. Obviously much further than an inch or two.

Well hey man i appriciateyourhelp. And if the -12 sticks way out im going with the +18
Boy in that link that guy claims - offset is what makes it stick further outside the fenders. I am not sure on that it looks more like he has some wheel spacers but I am not entirely sure. I would hit up a local wheel shop and ask.
