Still have one of the original phone-pole posters for the closing of Lions. Took it off a pole myself. I thought at the time it was an "end of an era" kinda' thing.
I also have one for OCIR, but had one send out to me. Didn't attend that closure.

Wow Marv, that's cool. I wish I had the presence of mind like that as a youngun to keep that stuff.
You're right it was the end of an era.
Thought I'd throw a vid out there.
I'm feeling nostalgic.
There are lots o' vids but this one communicates the gritty feeling of those days.

And October plus lots of other events through out the year.
Check this org out. An old friend races all these events. Though I haven't made one in years. Close to Fresno though. ANRA
Interesting, I have seen commercials for that race track, but never knew where it was. LOL Now I do. Going to have to make it down there one of these days.
Looks like the weather here in Indiana will be nice...so I plan to get outside and finish up the last of the prep work for the 12 yards of mulch that's coming on Tuesday!
Most of the pigs taken were smallish. Out of 7 hunters in camp, there was one big nasty old boar taken that probably went 250lbs, another sow that had good size but was drawn up pretty bad from recent litters and probably didn't go over 120lbs, and then my sow I would estimate at 150. I don't think any of the other 4 went over 80lbs.
Lot of things we didn't like about this hunt, and at this point I am undecided on going back. But we sure did see a lot of pigs. Out of 7 hunters, everyone but me filled their tags the first evening. Plus we saw Bison. And the outfitter shot and killed a rogue Ostrich!
