Air con upgrade
I have a 1979 F250 4x4 that came with factory air. All the original a/c components have been removed by the p/o. Is it possible to use the a/c components from a newer vehicle , say a 2000 or newer pickup, to put a/c back into my truck? Has anyone tried such an idea?

Anything is possible, just depends on how much work you want to do.
You say all the components were removed, does that include the HVAC box inside the truck? Adapting the newer unit will work but the hard part, IMO, would be finding or making the mounting brackets for the compressor. If your HVAC box is still there you could order the evaporator for it and use it with the newer components under the hood.
