I hear you there. For some reason folks cannot get it through their heads that you either get two-digit OR three-digit Codes... NEVER both. The counting game takes some practice to be certain. The pauses are consistent from the ECM during the test. The problem with that is what people believe is a "second". Always two-seconds between digits and four seconds between separate Codes. So, operator error, yeah, I'll concur, they run rampant.

i think its time for a new trans what years are interchangeable with the 94 4eod im gonna try and hit the wrecking yard and see if i can find any thing good don't really have much of a choice at this point

Well any trans with a Ford small block bellhousing will bolt up to the motor. A C6 would be nice but you'd lose overdrive....

im still working on that my cousin works in a shop so i can use there code reader but i have to wait till he has time. i want to try and track down a trans beforehand just in case also when i changed the tans filter the fluid was clean no flakes no shavings i added a qt of Lucas stop slip to it and that dint help

So you don't want to spend $30 for a code reader but you want to drop a few hundred on a spare trans just in case the one you have is bad?

will any of the small block 4eods fit and hook up to the wiring harness

lol i wasn't gonna buy the trans its just nice to have one lined up and ready for purchase

Yes but you want one either from a '93 & up truck or one that was rebuilt using the upgraded parts made available after that date.

Obviously it needs to be a 4x4 version.

ok thanks that's nice to know. just changed the ect iat changed the thermostat housing and added a mechanical temp gauge in doing this found the thermostat had popped open and stuck so i changed put a new one in and went back to factory temp it seems to be running alot better now hopefully that fixed the prob just hoping that it was a miss diagnosis and that it was not the trans but we will have to give it a few days to see for sure
