scarey wire splice :eek::eek:

This is a 97 Seville I got in today. The pic is an Alternator cable spliced together with a hose clamp. I could almost forgive the hack who did this but there was no tape covering it or anything, just laying there ready to short out on the engine.

That's the first time I seen a hose clamp used that way! Creative and pretty scary with no insulation to protect it. Is that the + side or ground. If its ground its no problem.

Like I said it was going to the alternator. There is another splice going to the starter but it is covered in tape. I can understand because the starter is buried under the intake manifold and the alternator is just buried! It looks like they got another cable from a junk car and tried to spice it in instead of doing it right HACKS!
